As-Salaam Alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu
To err is human ... Just give this a thought: is it possible for anyone to actually live in this world without committing any sins? It is hard to imagine, right? It is just like imagining that a baby can walk without stumbling or falling down. So it is a fact of life that we have to slip sometimes. It is only human to err ..! In a narration, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "If you were not to commit sins, AIlaah would take you away and bring a people who commit sins and then seek AIlaah's forgiveness and He would forgive them." (Muslim) ...to forgive is divine.
We should try our best to stay away from sins. However when we slip and fall into sins, we should remember that there is a Lord that forgives and who is always ready to accept our repentance. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) "A slave committed a sin and said, O Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive me. The Lord said, My slave knows that he has a Lord who forgives sins. Therefore, I have forgiven my slave.
Then he committed another sin and said, O Lord, I have committed another sin, so forgive me! His Lord says, My slave knows that he has a Lord who forgives sins, therefore, I have forgiven him. And on the third or fourth occurrence AIlaah says, He may do whatever he wishes." (Bukhari)
