SORCERY

 

Sorcery also called witchcraft or magic the act of using devils or demons [Shayaatin] to cause something to happen or seemingly happen to something or someone. Sorcery also includes magic spells that cause a person to hate something he seeks after (sarf) or love something he doesn’t seek after (sarf). So whoever performs it or is pleased with it being done, has committed disbelief. The proof for this is A1laahs statement: "And neither of these two (angels) would teach anyone until they had first said to them: We are-only a trial (for .the people), so do not commit disbelief: "[Q:l: 102

A Warning Narrated Abu Huraira; The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ``Avoid the seven ~ great destructive sins.  The people enquire, "O Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him}! What are they? "He said, "To join others in. worship along with Allaah, to practice sorcery, to kill the life which Allaah has forbidden except for a just cause (according to Islamic law), to eat up riba (usury), to eat up an orphans wealth, to give back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting, and to accuse chaste women, who never even think of anything touching "chastity and are good believers". [Bukhari] Judgment for Sorcery the Prophet, [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], said: Kill every sorcerer, for this; is the being punishment ordained by Allaah. Umar ibn al-Khattab sent messages to his viceroys in those countries sent messages to his viceroys in those countries under Islamic rule ordering them to kill all sorcerers. This was later confirmed by Uthman Ibn AffaR; Hafsah Bint Umar, Abdullah ibn Umar, and Jundub Ibn . Abdullah [RA] Yahya related .to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Sad ibn Zurara that he had heard that Hafsa, the of the Prophet, may Allaah bless him and grant him peace, Killed one. of her slave-girls who had used sorcery against her. She was a sorcerer. Hafs a gave the order, and she was killed. [Muwatta] No Salaah for Forty Nights Safiyyah reported from some of the wives of Allaah’s. Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that Allaah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "He who visits a diviner and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted. "(Bukhari] He has disbelieved! 

1. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]; "Whoever came to a soothsayer or a sorcerer and believed in what he said, will have disbelieved in what Allaah revealed to Muhammad [Ahmad] No portion in the Hereafter: Allaah says concerning those who perform magic or patronize them; "And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it [magic] would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that they sold their ownselves, if they but knew."[Q 2:1 02]

2. The Magician will never be successful Allaah said to Prophet Musa [AS] about people who practice magic or sorcery; "And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician’s trick and the magician will never be successful to whatever amount [of skill] he may attain"[Q 20:69]
