LIFE IN THE GRAVE

For Unbelievers

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"99 serpents will bite an unbeliever in his grave. They will bite him and sting him till the hour comes to pass ... "(Darimi)

Point to Ponder: Continuous snakes bite for years on end! Horrible life for the unbelievers in the Hereafter. Please save them.

Morning & Night

 Rasulullah (PBUH) said:

"When anyone of you dies, he is shown his seat morning and evening if he is amongst the inmates of Paradise he will see it. And if he is an inmate of Hell, he will see it." (Muslim)

Point to Ponder: Which do you want: a pleasant seat in Paradise or a hot seat in Hell?

First Side of the Coin

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"When a believer dies the grave says to him, 'Welcome and greetings; you are indeed the dearest to me of those who walk upon me. I have been given charge of you today and you have come to me and you will see how I shall treat you. 'It will then expand for him as far as the eye can see and a door to Paradise will be opened for him.... "(Timridhi)

Point to Ponder: For a warmly welcome, fear Allah always.

Second Side of the Coin

Rasulullah (PBUH) said:

"... When the inUd81is buried the grave says to him, 'No welcome and no greetings to you; you are the most hateful to me of those who walked upon me. I have been given charge of you today and you have come to me and you will see how I shall treat you.' (Timridhi)

Point to Ponder: It is better to be hated in this world than in the grave, so be a believer always.

Be Warned

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"... there is punishment in the grave." (Bukhari)

Point to Ponder: Pray to Allah for deliverance from it.

Not Just Major Sins Only

Rasulullah (PBUH) passed by two graves and said:

"Both of them are being tortured, and they are not being tortured for a major sin. This one used not to save himself from being soiled with his urine, and the other used to go about with calumnies (among the people to rouse hostilities). "(Bukhari)

Point to Ponder: Don't take those minor sins for granted.

Hurting Those You Love. ..

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"The deceased is tortured in his grave for the wailing done over him." (Bukhari)

Point to Ponder: Although it is allowed to cry for a dead person, a believer should not wail, because while wailing one may say things which are offensive to Allah.
