AS-SALAAM ALAYKUM WA RAHMATULLAH WABARAKATUH, All praise is due to Allaah; the Knower of all the things that are hidden to us human beings and jinns and the ones that are manifest. May His choicest blessings and benediction be upon the noble soul of the best of His creature [Muhammad], his household, companions and those who follow his footsteps until the Day of Judgement [Aamin]
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them), said:
"O Muhajirun, beware of five traits: if ever immorality spreads in a community and there is no sense of shame on its occurrence or mentioning it [and people talk about it as if nothing bad has taken place], diseases which were not present in the time of their predecessors will spread among them. If they decrease the measure and weight (of sold grains or food), they will be overcome by poverty, their provisions will decrease and their ruler will be unjust. If they refrain from paying the zakah due on their properties, they will be deprived of rain, unless they get it only for the sake of their cattle. If they renounce their commitment to Allah and His Messenger, they will be governed by an enemy who is a stranger to them and who will take away some of what they possess. If their rulers do not rule according to Allahs Book, they will be afflicted by civil war. Allah forbid that these should happen to you"(lbn Majah)
One of the minor signs of the last Hour, as the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah] informed us is that illegal sexual intercourse will be so common that the best person will be the one who will see two people cohabiting in public and he would only tell them: why dont you go behind a wall? Sometimes you can’t but think that we are already in that time that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] foretold. We are witnessing many of these things already.
Indeed, many of the evils of the past have been imbibed in the present and people dont seem to care. One of such sins is the evil sodomy! Now for a simple exercise: pick up your dictionary and check up the word sodomy. What does it mean? Strange act, unnatural and evil. Yes, you are right. There is more to be said about this evil. Our cover story this month, take you to the city of Sadum where this evil started.
Rush to page 4 but read the story soberly. May Allaah save us from this evil. Amin! One minute when taken into fraction is 1/1440 of a day. It is probably not enough for you to suck an orange. You may even need as much as ten of that [ten minutes] to finish your meal. But do you know that you can actually do something much more important than suck an orange, eat your meal or even earn a degree in that one minute? You ask how this is possible? A very rich businessman was once relaxing in his home when he heard someone knocking on his door, there standing before him was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his entire life. He yearned for her and invited her to come inside. But it was not to fulfill the man desires that she came; rather, she came because she was extremely poor and was forced to go around begging for money. He ignored her plea for help and insisted that she come inside.
Death is better than disobeying my Lord. She left but returned after a number of days. Her situation had obviously become more desperate, and again she asked him to help her. The businessman answered her as he did the first time. With tears flowing down her cheeks, the girl entered his house; he was now ever so close to utter to ruin. Again she pleaded: Please! Feed me for the countenance of Allaah! Not until you allow me to satisfy my desires with you, said the man, both coldly and hungrily.
Death is better than the punishment of Allaah, proclaimed the girl. As she was leaving, her sincere words echoed in the mind of the businessman, and after a long life of sinning, sincere tears of remorse flowed from his eyes for the very first time. He then fed the girl and married her. They afterwards enjoyed a happy married life. The first lesson from the story is that one can back down from the evil that one intends to do even at the last moment.
