4 things …weaken the body: talking too much, sleeping too much, eating too much, and having too much sexual intercourse.
Talking too much: Talking too much weakens the strength and sharpness of the mind and makes one gather more sins. The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
"People who will have the greatest share of sins on the Day of Judgement are those who speak vainly more than others." (Tabarani)
Sleeping too much: Sleeping too much blinds the heart, making one lazy and callous. Allaah describes those who are pious with little sleep:
"Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allaah's Cause) out of what we have bestowed on them."(Q32 [Sajdah]: 16)
Eating too much: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhiwa sallam) said:
"A human being has not filled any vessel which is worse than a belly. Enough for the son of Adam are some mouthfuls which can keep his back straight: but if there is no escape he should fill it a third with food, a third with drink, and leave a third empty."(Tirmidhi)
Having Intercourse too much: Having intercourse too often weakens one's strength and has harmful effects upon the body.
4 things …destroy the body: anxiety, grief, hunger and sleeplessness
Anxiety and grief: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhiwasallam) used to say,
"O Allaah! I seek refuge with you from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men." (Bukhari)
Hunger and Sleeplessness: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to say:
"O Allaah, I seek refuge in Thee from hunger, for it is an evil bedfellow; and I seek refuge in Thee from treachery, for it is an evil hidden trait." (Abu Dawud)
4 things …make other abhor and hate you: arrogance, jealousy, lying and spreading false rumours about others.
Arrogance: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
"Allaah Most High says: Pride is my cloak and majesty is my lower garment, and I shall throw him who vies with me regarding one of them into Hell." (Abu Dawud)
Jealousy: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Do not hate one another, nor be jealous of one another; and do not desert one another, but o Allaah's worshipers! Be Brothers! And it is unlawful for a Muslim to desert his brother Muslim (and not to talk to him) for more than three nights." (Bukhari)
Lying: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking," (Abu Dawud)
Spreading Tales: The Prophet (sallaallaahu alayhiwa sallam) said:
"Should I inform you that slandering, that is in fact a tale-carrying which creates dissension amongst people." (Muslim)
