Trustworthiness is a great virtue that every muslim must drive towards. A muslim who is trustworthy is loved by the people and Allaah, Being treacherous is loathed by most people even if they themselves are treacherous worse still, Allaah hates it and even writes the name of the one who lies and breaches trust as a liar with him.
Betray not Allaah: Allaah says: "Oh you who believe! Betray not Allaah and His messenger , nor betray knowingly your Amanat [things entrusted to you ,and all the duties which Allaah has ordained][Q8:27]
Fulfill every commitment Allaah says; "And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned" [Q17:34]
They are the losers: Allaah the Almighty says: "Who break the covenant of Allaah after contracting it and sever that which Allaah has ordered to be joined and cause corruption on earth. It is those who are the losers "[Q 2:27], "...for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home. "Allaah says; "But those who break the Covenant of Allaah after contracting it and sever that which Allaah Has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home. [Q 13:25]
Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud [RA]: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Should I inform you that slandering, that is in fact a tale-carrying which creates dissension amongst people, (and) he (further) said: The person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful, and he tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar.
