Im sure you are wondering what this is all about! Well it’s very simple; this editions favour from Allaah is something that all of us (except in some very few cases) have tasted. Unlike its artificial (man-made) substitutes, it comes handy and ready to drink. It’s not too hot, not too cold and tastes so delicious that when the time comes to stop taking it, the battle is always fierce between the one who drinks it and the one who supplies it.
It is so nourishing that those who drink it are healthy, intelligent and have beautiful skin. Are you guessing what I’m talking about? If yes, you probably are correct. Of course, its Breast milk! As the name goes, it flows from the breasts of not just humans but all mammals (higher animals) after the birth of an offspring. In most cases, it serves as the main source of nutrition for the baby. It saves the cost of buying baby formula, feeding bottles and so on. Allaah has blessed us with breast milk and mothers are enjoined to feed their babies with it for two years before they are weaned. This wonderful substance is so important that Allaah commands us to treat our parents well because of it. He (SWT) says:
"And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship and his weaning is in two years- give thanks to Me and to your parents, - unto Me is the final destination." (Q: 31 :14).
Even modern medicine and science acknowledge the importance of this milk. It is said to increase the love between mother and child, protect infections, obesity and eczema among others. It is also convenient for the mother as she can easily feed her baby at anytime without stress. The most amazing thing is that no one can say where this milk comes from. Of course science tells us where it is located and the process that causes it to flow but it cannot explain how exactly the milk gets in there. Only Allaah knows how this happens. Allaah has blessed us with this milk to strengthen the bond between a mother and her child.
He controls when it starts to flow and when it stops. He also makes it sufficient for the baby without need for water in the first SIX months. Allaah has also made it fresh and ready to drink without the need to add anything to it. What could be better than what Allaah Himself has provided? Alhamdulilah for Breast milk!
