QUESTION : Who is an electronics technician ?
Answer: An electronics technician is someone who deals with faults associated with communications electronic gadgets such as microphone, megaphone, television, radio, video camera etc. An electronics technician who has attained a level of competence is able to build simple electronic gadgets such as transistor-radio, microphone etc.
Question: What does it take to be an electronics technician?
Answer: Anyone who intends to be an electronics technician should be patient, careful, and also pay attention to every minute detail. Also, he should not be shy to ask question whenever he does not understand anything. The person should at least have a minimum of secondary school education. This is important there are some aspects of the skill that can only be understood by someone who has this minimum level of education.

Answer: The skill is not a stressful one and therefore can be acquired by anyone; male or female. People who may even have one form of disability or the other can readily acquire the skill ac inasmuch as the disability does not affect the hand.
Question: How long does it take to acquire the skill?
Answer: This depends on the intelligence the person involved. But generally, it takes between 3 1/2 -4years to fully acquire the skill. However, after the period of apprenticeship, it is important that the person continues to update his knowledge because of innovations that keep coming in every time. This will him make them relevant in the field.
Instruments and accessories of an electronics technician
1 .Meter: This is used for detecting where exactly the problem is in the gadget. It is also used to determine the amount of voltage coming into the gadget and see if it is appropriate or not.
2. Soldering-iron and Lead: This is used joining two parts that may have disconnected from each other.
3. Cutting-pliers: This is used for cutting wires.
4. Pointed nose pliers: This is used for picking up things that may be difficult to pick with hands because of their size.
5. Lead-sucker: This is used for removing lead that are not useful from the gadget.
6. Tester: This is used for checking if there is current flow inside the socket or power outlet.
7. Screw-Drivers: These are used for removing and tightening screws to their appropriate places.
