The technical school is more theoretical while the roadside school deals mainly with the practical aspect of the job. If one is able, it is better that one combines the two i.e. one should go to the technical school for the theoretical aspect of the job and later go to the roadside shoemaker to learn the practical aspect. A formal education is not a necessary requirement for one to be good in the trade. But the person who has at least a junior secondary school certificate will be better off because he will be able to communicate with people who can not speak own local language.

5. Hammer: For hitting the material.

6. Glue: For attaching two or more things together.

7. Punch: For making holes in leathers.

8. Scissors: For cutting leather and other things.

9. Pliers: For stretching leather and other things.
